Polyimide possesses high modulus, high tensile strength, and excellent chemical stability, allowing it to withstand temperatures of 300°C for extended periods and 490°C for short durations. Furthermore, it exhibits excellent mechanical properties, fatigue resistance, flame retardancy, dimensional stability, and electrical properties. Therefore, optical fibers coated with this material have high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for long-term use in environments with temperatures up to 300°C.
